Heart attacks are one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Survival rates have not improved significantly since 2008. Heart attacks are also the main cause of heart failure, which affects around 64 million people globally and is responsible for 14.5% of all deaths in the United States.


Carmev – A New Treatment for Heart Attack Patients
Carmev is a new anti-inflammatory treatment based on extracellularvesicles that also reduces scar tissue after a heart attack. By reducing inflammation and protecting the heart Carmev can help prevent heart failure, reduce complications and deaths, improve patients quality of life and save lives.
Carmev can be stored, transported, and given to patients using existing pharmaceutical and hospital systems. This makes it easy to introduce into current healthcare.
The development of Carmev will undergo phase 1 studies in the autumn of 2026
In the future, Carmev may also be used to treat other serious inflammatory diseases such as stroke, autoimmune diseases, traumatic brain injury and neurological disorders. Carmev is protected by patents and has the potential to become a new and important treatment for heart attack patients and other inflammatory diseases.
